Our Mother's 80th Birthday Celebration...

What a WONDERFUL weekend for honoring our mother, grandmother, and great grandmother!
If I have counted correctly there were 57 family members who gathered to celebrate with mom.

Thank you each one SO MUCH for making the effort to make this a "miracle" weekend as mom called it...to have the family together in one place at one time! We had families from Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Alabama, Louisiana, Oklahoma, and Missouri...some traveled a long way by car to be here for such a short weekend too.

Did you know this about clouds?

I read this today in my Bible reading and in light of all the rain and cloudy skies we have been having, I thought this verse for me was right on:)

So when you see the clouds in the sky...white and fluffy or dark and gray...cause it to make you think about God's faithfulness to you...that's one reason He put them there :)

Barking Dogs...

Well it has been a little while since I have actually blogged some on my blog page - even though I have posted pics and such:) Thought I would just take a few minutes and acutally write something:)

Ahhhhhh, there goes someone knocking at my door and my dog, Shane, is barking up a storm!! It's the AT&T man wanting to get into my back yard and lay some markings of AT&T's line!

Another reminder of how God orders our steps. I was going to go into town (Owasso) to Hobby Lobby and look (and buy) some material earlier this morn but have not gotten to leave yet because of one thing or another! If I had gone before the unannouced AT&T man had come, he would not have gotten into my back yard since we keep it locked...that is unless he climbs the fence...then Shane would have been in the backyard barking his head off. I don't think he would have bit the man but he would have annoyed him with his barking and nipping at his feet! So I'm thankful I have not gone yet! I will now wait until all the dogs in the neighborhood settle down and stop all their barking!

That reminds me of another thing: I am thankful for barking dogs - since I am home alone:) I know something is going on when I hear ALL their barks:)

Now let's see...back to my thoughts...if I can find them:):):)

Nope...this scenario has caused me to lose my chain of thought so that's all the blogging for now...besides ALL the dogs in the neighborhood are still barking, including my own who is inside, which is very DISTRACTING...so I will close this post and try, try again another day:):):):)

p.s. - I didn't title this page until the end of my blog writtings today:)

The TV is my Shepherd...

The TV is my Shepherd:
I shall turn it on.
It makes me lie down on the sofa.
It ravishes my soul.
It leads me in the paths of
Ignorance and violence,
For the sponsor’s sake.
Yea, though I walk in the shadow
Of my responsibilities,
There will be no interruptions;
For the TV is with me.
It’s cable and it’s remote control
They comfort me,
It prepares a commercial
Before me,
It plants lies within my mind.
It anoints my head
With materialism.
My coveting runneth over.
Surely laziness and ignorance
Shall follow me all the days of my life;
And I shall dwell in the house
Watching TV and it’s propaganda
Until the day tyranny breaks down
My door,
And I can no longer hide from it;
Behind my television, anymore.
