My Fall Garden...

I have a fall garden...thanks to my daughter in love, Jenny:)
I still have producing:
tomato plants,

bell pepper plants,

pumpkin plants (but no pumpkins, yet - I may have planted them too late - we'll see), turnip greens and one Luffa plant! I planted some other stuff but they did not make it!

You may be asking - What is a luffa plant?!

Well, it is a gourd that is eaten when it is young and tender OR left on the vine to grow large and tough until the first frost...then you harvest them and peel off the outer layer...and you have a sponge like substance to be used as a kitchen sponge or a bath sponge! Really:)

I got these luffa seeds over 10 years ago from my Uncle Bill and never planted them. I found them this year (in my freezer) and planted about 12 seeds...only one plant came up. I plan on harvesting the seeds and planting more of them next year and will just have to see what happens!

Also in the garden, Jenny planted Chinese cabbage, bok choy, and a couple of other leafy plants that I don't remember the name of right now.

The garden really looks beautiful and we are enjoying the fruits of it...
like a dish of turnip greens and corn bread...mmmmmmmm good!

Moving Day...

for Todd and Jenny
The movers moved all the boxes and furniture into their house on Monday 15th.
They had been living in their house since the closing on Wednesday the 10th!
They will slowly but surely get all unpacked and settled in.
What a delight to have them back in Oklahoma:)

Abbie says, "Welcome to my house and my yard!"

"Come see me and roll in the grass!"
"My new house."
"Hey, come on in!"

"Boxes, boxes...EVERYWHERE!"

"Hey, granddad, will you do a puzzle with me?"

"Mom is whipping up some supper."

"Here is my little sister, Savannah."

"I just love it here.
Come see me sometime!"

Happy Anniversary...

Amy & Kevin

A Marriage Prayer

Lord, be in this marriage
In a special way,
May we feel Your presence
Each and every day.

Grant us both good humor
To surpass our coming years;
May there always be much laughter,
May there always be less tears.

Give us strength and courage
To follow in Your will,
To trust You in the valley
As we do upon the hill.

Give us both the eyes of love
So we'll always see
The goodness in each other,
Secure us, Lord, in Thee.

Give us words of kindness, Lord,
Help us both to live
So our lips are ever quick
In saying, "I forgive.

Give us hearts that beat as one,
Bind us ever near;
May our love grow deeper, Lord,
With each passing year.

Lord, be in this marriage,
Keep our love brand new;
May we love each other, Lord,
The same way that You do.

What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.
(Matthew 19:6b, KJV)

An Empty House...and REMEMBERING 911

Yesterday Todd & Jenny closed on their new house in Tulsa and are moving in today (weather permitting...the movers will not move if it is raining which it is doing right now!)

They stayed with us a little over 6 weeks...now it is QUIET...we will miss those little feet running to us and those precious smiles, open arms, loving hugs and sweet goodnights. Oh, I must not forget...also the constant question from Abbigail..."Why, Why, Why?":):):)

Warren and I will now get back to our normalcy...whatever that is:) We do have a busy schedule over the next several weeks: RV Club campout this coming weekend, then leaving on the 20th for a week's vacation to Jackson, MS & Shreveport, LA to visit our precious mom's. My mother is 79 years young! Warren's mom is 90 years young! While in Jackson we will be staying with my brother and sweet sister in love. See you guys soon:)

I still have a few more photoshows and pics to share (in time), but for now I have a house to clean and get back into order!

And lest we forget...
REMEMBERING 911

'MEET ME IN THE STAIRWELL'

You say you will never forget where you were when
you heard the news On September 11, 2001.
Neither will I.

I was on the 110th floor in a smoke filled room
with a man who called his wife to say 'Good-Bye.'
I held his fingers steady as he dialed. I gave him the
peace to say, 'Honey, I am not going to make it,
but it is OK..I am ready to go.'

I was with his wife when he called as she fed
breakfast to their children. I held her up as she
tried to understand his words and as she realized
he wasn't coming home that night.

I was in the stairwell of the 23rd floor when a
woman cried out to Me for help. 'I have been
knocking on the door of your heart for 50 years!' I said.
Of course I will show you the way home - only
believe in Me now.'

I was at the base of the building with the Priest
ministering to the injured and devastated souls.
I took him home to tend to his Flock in Heaven. He
heard my voice and answered.

I was on all four of those planes, in every seat,
with every prayer. I was with the crew as they
were overtaken. I was in the very hearts of the
believers there, comforting and assuring them that their
faith has saved them.

I was in Texas, Virginia, California, Michigan, Afghanistan.
I was standing next to you when you heard the terrible news.
Did you sense Me?

I want you to know that I saw every face. I knew
every name - though not all know Me. Some met Me
for the first time on the 86th floor.

Some sought Me with their last breath.
Some couldn't hear Me calling to them through the
smoke and flames; 'Come to Me... this way... take
my hand.' Some chose, for the final time, to ignore Me.
But, I was there.

I did not place you in the Tower that day. You
may not know why, but I do. However, if you were
there in that explosive moment in time, would you have
reached for Me?

Sept. 11, 2001, was not the end of the journey
for you. But someday your journey will end. And I
will be there for you as well. Seek Me now while I may
be found. Then, at any moment, you know you are
'ready to go.'

I will be in the stairwell of your final moments.
God

Our ONLY hope in this world is
JESUS CHRIST and His RIGHTEOUNESS!

Happy Birthday, Camden!
We sure love you:)
I will be posting Cam's birthday photoshow sometime next week after I post Kassidy's poodle birthday party.

Introducing my new endeavor:

Check it out at:

I've been working on this for quite awhile...but just never got anywhere with it until recently a friend asked me to make her an applique baby quilt. I do embroidery machine appliques and quilting. I told her I would...thus I thought it was maybe time to launch this site! So here it is...I'm having fun, learning a lot, and trusting the Lord in all things.
Don't take yourself too seriously, take God seriously!

"What does the Lord require of you, but to do justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God." Micah 6:8

Proverb Punch: When things get tough, always remember...faith doesn't get you around trouble, it gets you through it!
