Look Who is 64...

and SO MUCH MORE!

Yes, the LOVE of MY LIFE!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY
to a godly man who loves well, lives well, and laughs well!

I made Warren his favorite pie for his birthday!
His momma's chocolate pie recipe!
Doesn't it look SO PRETTY in this picture!

Then all of a sudden...
Oops!
The meringue slid right off while Warren
was holding up/showing off his pie for the camera:(

I proceeded to put the meringue back on and rebrown it
best I could to make it at least look presentable!
The best think about this is:
#1 it didn't fall on the floor
#2 it will still taste like his momma's delicious chocolate pie!
GOTTA LOVE IT:)

Granddaughter, Macey, has a pet frog!
The frog lives outside on the farm!

She is definitely a farm girl with brothers...

YES! We have Baby Bluebirds...

Not sure when they hatched but knew momma bluebird was sitting on her eggs.
There were 5 eggs...can't tell yet how many fledgings there are.
You can get close to the fledgings up to 13 days after they hatch...
after that you could cause them to leave the nest too soon.

Momma & Daddy bluebirds are faithfully watching, guarding, and feeding their babies!

Preparing for Easter...

Calvary Cries
(by Kathy Meyer - 1993)

What is that I hear from the distant hill?
Screeching cries that shout to kill!
As I quickly pass by I begin to fear
For the angry sounds that pierce my ear.

Why oh why does Calvary cry?
Is it for me, I wonder and sigh?
My heart tugs hard as I go by.

I go to this place that is so drear,
Where pain and death are very near.
And what I see draws me to my knee,
For a Righteous Man is nailed on a tree.

Why oh why does Calvary cry?
How my soul aches as I draw nigh.
Is it for me that someone should die?

Not mere man, my heart can tell.
His body and soul are drenched with hell.
Righteousness and love are in His face.
His final words are full of grace.

Why oh why does Calvary cry?
This is His plan that comes from on high.
God gave Himself so I would not die.

God yet man, how can this be?
He opened my eyes that I might see,
For nailed on a tree is release for me
That belief in Him, I am set free.

My heart and soul now know why
This Righteous One should suffer and die.
For my sin alone made Calvary cry!

Our Bluebirds are back...

and we have 5 BB eggs!

Last year a cat killed one of the bluebirds
and a sparrow pecked one to death:(
Then something destroyed their 5 eggs:(
We are hoping these will hatch in a couple of weeks!

UPDATE:
Before I could even post this I am VERY SORRY TO REPORT:
Something has destroyed all five of these beautiful eggs:(

Wondering now if we will ever have any baby bluebirds come from this nest box!

Back to back snow storms & 6 grandchildren...

staying at our house for 2 weeks!  What an opportunity for us to invest in the lives of these 6 grandchildren!  The hardest part was that it was SO cold they couldn't go outside to play much during their stay here...but we managed and had a great time of it!  Even granddad couldn't get out and go to work...he worked from our house...can you imagine that!!!  He indeed was a trooper and good sport about the extra activities and noise level!
Check out the photoshow below and see just a few things we did with our time.  Not pictured is:  doing school work, morning routine, morning chores, making sheet/blanket tents & forts, working puzzles, playing board/card games, folding & putting away clothes, eating, snacking, praying, salt/dough craft, painting crafts, coloring, playing on the ipad & computer, coloring, creating, Valentine Party, making cupcakes, popping balloons, etc, etc, etc...

"RETARDED" GRANDPARENTS

Written by a third grader, on what his grandparents do.  After Christmas, a teacher asked her young pupils how they spent their holiday away from school. One child wrote the following:

We always used to spend the holidays with Grandma and Grandpa. They used to live in a big brick house, but Grandpa got retarded and they moved to Arizona. Now they live in a tin box and have rocks painted green to look like grass.

They ride around on their bicycles, and wear name tags, because they don't know who they are anymore. They go to a building called a wreck center, but they must have got it fixed because it is all okay now, they do exercises there, but they don't do them very well. There is a swimming pool too, but they all jump up and down in it with hats on.

At their gate, there is a doll house with a little old man sitting in it. He watches all day so nobody can escape. Sometimes they sneak out, and go cruising in their golf carts.

Nobody there cooks, they just eat out. And, they eat the same thing every night - early birds. Some of the people can't get out past the man in the doll house. The ones who do get out, bring food back to the wrecked center for pot luck.

My Grandma says that Grandpa worked all his life to earn his retardment and, says I should work hard so I can be retarded someday too.

When I earn my retardment, I want to be the man in the doll house. Then I will let people out, so they can visit their grandchildren.

PRICELESS

SOOOOOOO Ready for Spring...

We will be driving to our daughter's home in Missouri tomorrow (20th) in anticipation of the arrival of our 16th grandchild on Friday 21st!  We are SO excited and anxious (in a good way) to meet this little one...no we don't know if it is a boy or girl yet!

January Ramblings...

Haven't posted in a while so thought I should get back to it! It has been COLD here and I have been in hybernation!  I just do not like cold weather and the older I get that dislike increases!  I find every and any excuse to NOT go out in it!

It has been a slow January for me which is good...I am SO enjoying retirement...gets better everyday too!  We have 3 family birthdays in January...see the pics on the left side bar and we will add another one to that list soon!

I have also been bitten my the "Quilting Bug"!  I have kept that "bug" at bay for many years - just dabbling with it now and then - until now!  I have just pieced a full size quilt for our granddaughter, Katelin.  That was really so fun!  Now the part that takes longer...hand quilting it.   My goal is to finish it by her 16th birthday which is in April!  YIKES, hope I can do it!

I have already started on piecing granddaughter Erin's quilt for her 1st birthday that's in November!  I have the material to make our grandson, Parker, a large size quilt but will wait until I finish these two.  My goal is to make a large quilt for each one of our grandchildren...that would be 16 quilts in all so far!

To help me in this endeavor, Warren bought me an early birthday present: Grace EZ3 Fabri-Fast Hand Quilting Frame.  It should arrive here by this Friday!  I am SO EXCITED and can't wait to get started hand-quilting!

We are on grandchild baby watch - baby can come anytime now - we are ready - and can't wait to meet our 16th grandchild!

So you see my slow January is getting ready to accelerate into a faster speed and if you do not see a new post on my blog until after February you will understand!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good;
Blessed is the man who trusts in Him!
Oh, fear the Lord, you His saints!
There is no want to those who fear Him.
The young lions lack and suffer hunger;
But those who seek the Lord
shall not lack any good thing.
Psalm 34:8-10

As you draw near to God may you experience His presense in your life on a daily basis!
Don't take yourself too seriously, take God seriously!

"What does the Lord require of you, but to do justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God." Micah 6:8

Proverb Punch: When things get tough, always remember...faith doesn't get you around trouble, it gets you through it!
