Anniversary Thoughts...

40 years that sounds like a really long time, but it seems like only yesterday we tied the solid knot:) We had a quick get-away to the Ozarks in our RV which is something we both love to do.

Life has been good with this man I married...
REALLY GOOD!

Indeed I am SO BLESSED to be his wife:)
Thank you, the love of my life,
for a WONDERFUL 40 years together:)
And looking forward to MANY more with you:)

Mayonnaise jar & Two Cokes...

When things in your life seem almost too much to handle, when 24 hours in a day are not enough, remember the mayonnaise jar and the 2 Cokes.

A professor stood before his philosophy class and had some items in front of him. When the class began, he wordlessly picked up a very large and empty mayonnaise jar and proceeded to fill it with golf balls. He then asked the students if the jar was full.

They agreed that it was. The professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured them into the jar. He shook the jar lightly. The pebbles rolled into the open areas between the golf balls. He then asked the students again if the jar was full. They agreed it was.

The professor next picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar. Of course, the sand filled up everything else. He asked once more if the jar was full. The students responded with a unanimous 'yes.'

The professor then produced two cokes from under the table and poured the entire contents into the jar effectively filling the empty space between the sand. The students laughed. 'Now,' said the professor as the laughter subsided, 'I want you to recognize that this jar represents your life.

The golf balls are the important things---your family, your children, your health, your friends and your favorite passions---and if everything else was lost and only they remained, your life would still be full.

The pebbles are the other things that matter like your job, your house and your car.

The sand is everything else---the small stuff. 'If you put the sand into the jar first,' he continued, 'there is no room for the pebbles or the golf balls. The same goes for life.

If you spend all your time and energy on the small stuff you will never have room for the things that are important to you. Pay attention to the things that are critical to your happiness. Spend time with your children. Spend time with your parents. Visit with grandparents. Take your spouse out to dinner. Play another 18.

There will always be time to clean the house and fix the disposal. Take care of the golf balls first---the things that really matter. Set your priorities. The rest is just sand.

One of the students raised her hand and inquired what the coke represented. The professor smiled and said, 'I'm glad you asked.' The coke just shows you that no matter how full your life may seem, there's always room for a couple of cokes with a friend :)

I'm "A Holding You"

I love it when God shows me one of His truths by way of a "picture story"! When He does this I have the truth deep in my heart and cannot forget it. It cannot be taken away from me!

We had the pleasure of going to the Balloon Festival Glow Show with granddaughters' Abbie & Savannah, and their parents. Darkness came upon us and it was time to walk back to our cars which were parked in a field. Without a care in the world two year old Savannah took my hand as we walked!

Yes, she was holding my hand but unaware to her I was "a holding" her hand: being sure to guide her every step so she would not stumble or fall...making sure she did not veer off into the street packed with moving cars...guiding her around holes in the ground and rocks that might cause her to trip...shielding her from those who might run into her...encouraging her to walk forward and not look back!
Yes, she was holding my hand, but I was "a holding" hers:) We made it safely to our destination!
The next day as I was thinking about our fun time with the gdaughters and how sweetly Savannah held my hand when the Lord spoke to my heart:

"Kathy, that's the same thing I do for you! As you walk through life holding My Hand, you can be assured that I'm "a holding" yours!"

How precious to me...God was once again confirming His Hand and Hold on my life! I can walk through each day knowing:
He is in control of my every step;
He is leading me down the path that pleases Him;
He is my Help when I veer off His Path to get back on it;
He is my Protector and Shield;
He is my Encourager & Hope.

Thank you, Lord, for this picture of Your Great Care and Love for me and each one of your followers in Christ.

Once again...

my blog is a work in progress! My last blog design (which I really liked) was deleted from online! So I am working on a new one. Hope to have it like I want it soon:)
Don't take yourself too seriously, take God seriously!

"What does the Lord require of you, but to do justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God." Micah 6:8
