How Many Quart Bags of...

Turnip Greens did I freeze...well not as many as I thought I would from the looks of my garden! I have learned it takes a whole lot of turnip greens to make a whole of of quart bags to freeze!

The answer to the Turnip Green Poll is only a mere 12 quart size bags with most of the bags being turnips only!

This was definitely a learning experience for me and gardening!

Did You Know...

that 3 pounds of greens yields about 2 pints of frozen greens!

This afternoon I washed turnip greens 3 times - making sure all dirt and grit were off - then blanching them in boiling water for 2 minutes - then into freezer bags!

Yesterday afternoon I picked a bag full of turnips and greens (about 1/4 of the row) - I thought it was a good amount to start with - and if need be I could always pick more from the garden - that idea was scratched because it rain ALL day today. So the bag full that I picked yesterday turned out to be 2 qt. size freezer bags of turnips & greens - and 3 qt size freezer bags of just cubed turnips.

I still have 1 & 3/4 rows of turnip greens to pick and freeze...I wonder how many quart bags this will make?? You want to guess? Let me see if I can figure out how to put a poll on my blog...some of you have done this...but I never have...so I guess this is the time to learn.

I need to get these picked, washed, and frozen this week...since I am on standby for Grandbaby #14 that is due Nov. 11th...that means baby could come any time and I have to be ready to go!

Well...look I did it...look to your left side of my blog to see my poll...Blogger really makes this so easy to do! Indulge me and take a guess, please:)

How Does My Garden Grow...

I'm just amazed at my fall garden...I've never had one before...it has done so much better than my spring garden this year.

I have discover 5 small green pumpkins underneath all their leaves. They are of the small variety so hopefully they will be ready before Thanksgiving and hopefully there are some more hidden ones that I have not found yet. Take a look!! Turn on the sound icon:)

Conviction...

REAL conviction...that's what we need in the body of Christ Jesus today! My heart is grievous when I see "followers of Chirst" live, look, talk, & walk like the world and not like their Saviour, Christ Jesus!

What's wrong with "The Church"(big C)?

We have let the world in...thus there is NO power! Jesus calls us the "salt of the earth" but our salt has lost it's flavor and has become ineffective:( We have no power to do what God has called us to do!
Now I've said it...but my heart is still heavy - my spirit still grieves...as I know Father, God grieves EVEN MORE and says to His children:

Come back to me...
come back home, my dear children...

Don't love the world's ways.
Don't love the world's goods.
Love of the world squeezes out love for the Father.
Practically everything that goes on in the world--
wanting your own way,
wanting everything for yourself,
wanting to appear important--
has nothing to do with the Father.
It just isolates you from Him.
The world and all its wanting, wanting, wanting is on the way out--
but whoever does what God wants is set for eternity.
John 2:15-17 (The Message)

I've written to warn you about those who are trying to decieve you. But they're no match for what is embedded deeply within you--Christ's anointing, no less! You don't need any so-called teaching. Christ's anointing teaches you the truth on everything you need to know about yourself and Him, uncontaminated by a single lie. Live deeply in what you were taught.

And now, children, stay with Christ. Live deeply in Christ. Then we'll be ready for Him when He appears, ready to receive Him with open arms, with no cause for red-faced guilt or lame excuses when He arrives. Once you're convinced that He is right and righteous, you'll recognize that all who practice righteousness are God's true children.

What marvelous love the Father has extended to us! Just look at it--we're called children of God! That's who we really are. But that's also why the world doesn't recognize us or take us seriously, because it has no idea who He is or what He's up to.

But friends, that's exactly who we are: children of God. And that's only the beginning. Who knows how we'll end up! What we know is that when Christ is openly revealed, we'll see Him--and in seeing Him become like Him. All of us who look forward to His coming stay ready, with the glistening purity of Jesus' life as a model for our own.

I took this pic yesterday...can you believe the greenness of my garden! I still have bell peppers, tomatos, bok choy, cabbage, chinese melons, a couple of tiny pumpkins, turnip greens, dicon, and one thriving loofah plant (use for bath or kitchen sponge).

And as you can tell from the pic (upper left)...
