A Call to Holiness

Got a good reminder this morning from the Word of God that I am compelled to share:)

Jesus has told us in John 14: 31 -
"so the world might know how thoroughly I love the Father, I am carrying out my Father's instructions right down to the last detail. Get up. Let's go." (The Message)

"so that the world may know that I love the Father, I do exactly as the Father commanded Me. Get up, let us go..." (NAS)

Have you thought about this scripture in light of your own life...your own walk in Christ? How much do I really (thoroughly) love the Father? Do my actions, my talking, my thinking on a daily basis show Father God my deep abiding love or lack of for Him? Think about it!

This leads me to another scripture: "...and there must be NO filthiness and silly talk, or coarse jesting, which are not fitting, but rather giving of thanks." Ephesians 5:4

You may be thinking: "I don't cuss, nor use God's name in vain, nor tell or listen to dirty jokes so I'm good here!" Well, lets keep on thinking about this Word from Father God.

While you may not do the things above have you ever spoken with innuendos?
Do you watch and listen to TV shows, movies, and music with sinful innuendos at which you laugh at...which you are entertained by?
Do you expose your innocent children to these sinful innuendos thinking they don't "get it" so it's okay! (Let me remind you that Satan is crafty and he desires the hearts and minds of your children!) Now think about it!

What is an "innuendo"? Webster's Dictionary says: "to nod to, to hint, an indirect remark, gesture, or reference usually implying something derogatory, insinuation.

How it grieves my heart when I see other believers laughing at sin...instead we should be weeping!

Father God tells us in Proverbs 4:23: "Watch over (guard, keep, protect, maintain) your heart with ALL diligence, for from it flow the springs of life."

Ephesians 5:4 is a command from Father God. If indeed you are a true Follower/Believer of Jesus Christ and truly desire "to carry out His instructions right down to the last detail in order that the world will know you love the Father" you will then take note of what I am writing about and examine your own heart in this matter!

"Give instruction to a wise man and he will be still wiser, teach a righteous man and he will increase his learning." Proverb 9:9

A good word in due season....thanks for sharing that, Kathy. We need to be on guard for those "little" things that cause us to slip up. Little can have a big impact.

Don't take yourself too seriously, take God seriously!

"What does the Lord require of you, but to do justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God." Micah 6:8

Proverb Punch: When things get tough, always remember...faith doesn't get you around trouble, it gets you through it!
